 | Revolutionary Campaigns:In 1792, served with l'Armee des Alpes from May - July then took part in the siege of Lyon before being sent to Belfort and Neufbrisach. The Regiment was distinguished in its conduct at the capture of the gorge of Alberweiler; 19 July 1793 and in the assault on the Prussian entrenched position on the heights of Ste Anne; 22 July 1793. From 1794-95 it served in l'Armee des Cotes-de-l'Ocean. The Regiment was not affected by the first amalgamation. The second amalgamation (19 February 1797) saw the Regiment incorporated into the 34eme Demi-Brigade-de-Ligne. For further information see the Regiment d'Infanterie de Ligne Champagne (Nr 7). |
