DODGE VIPER
GTSR CONCEPT
The following data is from the Dodge Viper brochure printed in December 1999.
The GTSR concept features a carbon-fiber body on a modified tubular steel space frame, supported by a coil-over-shock, short-and-long-arm suspension system.
Further developments included lowering the chassis and hood, designing an enlarged, electronically variable front splitter, a larger air diffuser, as well as enlarging the aerodynamic rear spoiler.
Look for a sleek, long, muscular profile: the A-pillar was moved three inches forward, the rear wheels positioned three inches rearward.
Along with enhanced engine and power train capability, the Viper GTSR concept features bigger headlights for improved light output and visibility.
Viper GTSR concept improves the previous racecar's output. Attention to Viper's awesome 8-liter V!0 raised output to 500 hp @ 5,200 rpm, with torque up to 500 lb-ft @ 3,700 rpm.
The final* numbers? Zero to 60 mph in a mere 3.8 seconds. A standing quarter mile of only 12.3 seconds. And with its top speed projected to exceed 200 miles an hour, the incredible GTSR concept will make spectators a colorful blur.
