SATB: Songs of the New York Voices

They have been called the vocal giants of jazz and superb singers of swing. This Grammy Award winning vocal ensemble is renowned for their excellence in jazz and the art of group singing. Their distinctive sound and superb contemporary vocalization will set the stage for the Kingston Grenadiers 2004 season.

We will be begin our production with a traditional Baroque approach then surprisingly changes to a samba style groove with the appropriately titled “Baroque Samba”. We will then quickly change the mood and get a little dirtier with the sultry “Ain’t No Sunshine”. After we wipe our brow it is time for a jam session with the classic "Sing Sing Sing" to which we will feature our percussion section jamming out the rhythms of the big band era. We will set the final groove with New York Voices’ feel good song “Now or Never”.
