This was the ice-breaking cat, she came into our lives as a squeaky kitten in June '97. She was found by my husband's family in a suburb of St. Louis, with another male kitten. The mother cat had been hit by a car, so the kittens needed a home.
We took Gretl, since I had been wanting a cat to cuddle for YEARS...but, Gretl is not a cuddly cat. She is independent and aloof much of the time. She bonded to my husband more than me, because he plays with her more. She does enjoy trying to get on his lap whenever he is eating...she is an opportunist! |

Tillie is a petite calico girl, she was living at a property my husband and I bought, a stray. When we found her, she had two little kittens...we began care of them in Aug '98. Tillie was social, but wary, so I think she had been "dumped". She is very precious, and always acts grateful for the care we give her. I think she had been on her own for a while, and probably was first pregnant when she herself was not fully grown, thus her small adult size.
My favorite thing about Tillie is that she has become so trusting as to let herself be held for almost any length of time...she just purrs and squints her eyes lovingly at me.
