The two-year investigation targeted individuals and organizations supplying large quantities of drugs ordered over the internet and delivered by mail. "The long arm of the law today clearly has reached deep into cyberspace to send a clear message: Law enforcement will pierce the cloak of secrecy surrounding e-drug traffickers and bring them to justice," said Asa Hutchinson, the director of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Victims of "Date Rape" drug testify; Congress urged to adopt stronger penalties http://www.cnn.com/US/9607/17/date.rape.drug/index.html Two women who were raped after an illegalo drug was slipped into their drinks gave testimony. One stated, " I did come to for a bit, 45 seconds to a minute, while he was raping me (in my own bed)." She testified that her attacker, at the time a trusted friend, offered her what apparently was a spiked soft drink during a visit to his home. The next thing she knew, it was morning of the next day, and she was lying naked in the man's bed. "He turned toward me and said hehe'd waited five years for this," she said, "So this was not something that just happened, this was planned." She became pregnant as a result of the assault. The man, who authorities said boasted he had attacked as many as 20 women, eventually pleaded guilty to one count of sexual assault.
