This book is listed as a “Pirates and Privateers Supplement”. Immediately, you realize, upon reading this book the Far Orbit is actually a ship. A Nebulon-B Frigate to be exact. The whole book basically contains information on how to run a campaign aboard this ship. I believe that the players take on the part of part of the ships crew, as it goes about a privateer campaign.
Inside of this book contains a wealth of information about a wide variety of ships. There’s even a pretty big chart in here covering a wide assortment of equipment. It’s listed as a “black market” list, and as the campaign goes on the prices get more and more expensive. Probably one of the most interesting things in this book is the comprehensive floor plans of the Nebulon-B. This bit is helpful in ANY other campaign or adventure you have that might contain one of these ships.
Overall, this book is best summed up with the word “wow”. It’s comprehensive beyond compare, and if you can actually make time to read over all 176 pages of information, it would be one of the most thorough campaigns you’ll probably run out of a book. If you don’t have the time to do such a thing, then just use the book as I do…as a sourcebook of information. It’s got lots of information on ships and people, and while the artwork varies from poor to “okay”, it holds up well due to the content.
