Galliano formed in 1988 around acid house DJ Rob Gallagher but later
turned to laid-back and jazzy soul with heavy emphasis on live presentation
and environmental issues. During its first year many people participated
on this band
(Carleen Anderson,
Omar, Linda Muriel) but later their main vocalist was Valerie Etienne (who
also has recorded with
Count Basic and
Mondo Grosso), keyboard
player Mick Talbot, bass player Ernie McKone, drummer Crispin Taylor and
Gallagher with raps and turntables. They have 4 albums and many compilations.
I heard the band split some time ago and Gallagher continues with a new band. |
