He also used the surnames Grovenbery, Grovenbury, & Grovenberry.

Moore and unknown) about 1832.⁽¹³⁶⁾⁽¹³⁷⁾ Jane Moore was born on 21 Apr 1813.⁽¹³⁷⁾ She was buried on 5 Jul 1833 in Wagner Cemetery, near Franklin Corners- Plain Twp., Franklin Co., Ohio.⁽¹³⁷⁾ She died on 5 Jul 1833.⁽¹³⁷⁾ Aged 20yrs, 2mo, 15d, died with infant. Garrett Van Evera Gravenbergh and Jane Moore had the following children:

(from Archibald Smith's Diary) - This year sister Eliza Grovenberry died July 10, 1840. She died in Reynoldsburg, was buried in Smith's burial ground by the side of her little son Henry. John, her oldest son went away and we never heard from him after. William was all that was left of her family, and now he lays by the side of his mother and little brother Henry. William - Sarg't Co A 50 O.V.I. born 1840 died 1872. Garrett Van Evera Gravenbergh and Eliza Smith had the following children:

65 i. John Grovenbery was born in 1837 in Ohio. (from Archibald Smith's Diary) - Eliza Grovenberry died ... her oldest son John went away and we never heard from him after.
66 ii. Henry Grovenbery was born in 1838. He died before 1840. He was buried in Smith's Burying Ground, Plain Twp, Franklin Co., Ohio.⁽¹⁴⁷⁾⁽¹⁴⁶⁾ (from Archibald Smith's Diary): "my sister Eliza Grovenberry died July 10, 1840...she was buried by the side of her little son Henry."

He was married to Ester Hughes (daughter of Job Hughes and Salinda Goodrich) on 12 Jan 1841 in Franklin Co., Ohio.⁽¹⁴⁸⁾

Tombstone inscription: "Ester wife of G. Grovenberry died May 21,1879 aged 55 year, 1 month, 3 days." "A light from our household is now gone, A voice we loved is stilled, A place is vacant at our hearth, That never can be filled." Garrett Van Evera Gravenbergh and Ester Hughes had the following children:
