Johannes Gravenbergh ^{(46) (47)} was born on 27 Mar 1778 in Schenectady Town, Albany Co., New York. ^{(48)(49) (30)} He was baptized on 5 Apr 1778 in First Dutch Reformed Church at Schenectady, Albany, New York. ^{(50)(51) (52)(34)} He moved from from Montgomery Co., New York about 1814 to Cortland Co., New York. He is found in the 1825 NY Census in 1825 in Truxton Twp, Cortland, New York. ⁽⁵³⁾ He died before 1845 in Michigan.

1830 Census - John Grovenburgh household, lists 1 male born 1770-1780 - 50-60 yrs old.
1837 Census - John Grovenburg household; Brady twp, Kalamazoo Co., MI.
1840 Census - John Grovenburgh household; male, age 60-70 (1770-1780).
1845 Census - John does not appear in the 1845 Michigan Census, and is presumed to have already passed away.

He was married to Christina Van Evera (daughter of Rynier A. Van Yveren (the Younger) and Elisabeth Ostrander) about 1803 in New York. Christina Van Evera was born on 12 Sep 1784 in Albany, Albany, New York. She was baptized on 12 Sep 1784 in First Dutch Reformed Church of Albany, Albany, New York. ⁽⁵⁴⁾
Baptism Notes: "1784 bo[rn] Sept. 12. Christina of Reynier V. Yveren and Elisabeth Oostrander. Wit. Gerrit and Christina Oostrander." [this child's grandparents] She died after 9 Jul 1870 in probably Mindon, St. Joseph, Michigan. ⁽⁵⁵⁾

1845 Census - Christina is not listed by name, but is the female, age 45-75, enumerated in the Azariah Gruvenburgh household.
1850 - Christiana Grovenburg, age 69, born in NY, and enumerated with Ezeriah A. Grovenburg.
1860 Census - Christiana is 80 yrs old, and born in NY, living with son Ezeriah Grovenburg.
1870 Census - she is listed as 95 years, living with John Wilcox, her son-in-law.

Note of interest:
Nelly Van Evera, dau of Rynier Van Evera and mentioned in his will of 1806, married Joseph Wood... Nelly died bfore 1806, and had children mentioned, but no names.
There is a boy named James B. Wood, age 7, listed in the 1850 census with the family of Ezeriah A. Grovenburg, which includes his wife, his children, and his mother Christina. ...
Rynier A. Van Evera (b. 1740) the father of Christina Van Evera, and Rynier A. Van Evera (b. 1729) are first cousins, descending through Reynier (Myndertse) Van Everen. ...
One wonders if this child James Wood is perhaps a descendant of Nelly's children, if she indeed had a son... Johannes Gravenbergh and Christina Van Evera had the following children:
