Qian Long
Qian Long is the Emperor. He is the grandson of Emperor Kang Xi, and the fourth son of Emperor Yong Zheng. Qian Long is really his reign title. Hong Li is his real name, and his last name is Ai Xin Jue Luo.
Xiao Yan Zi
Xiao Yan Zi, of course, isn't her real name, but she grew up as an orphan, and that's what everybody called her. Her name in English means Little Swallow (xiao - little, yan zi - swallow). She is also known as Huan Zhu Ge Ge, or Returned Pearl Princess (returned - huan, pearl - zhu, princess - ge ge). Xiao Yan Zi never had much "home training" so she wasn't used to too many rules. She didn't know how to read well either, but she did know how to live life. She can also do some marshall arts.
Xiao Yan Zi
The new Xiao Yan Zi from Huan Zhu Ge Ge 3 is played by Huang Yi (Betty Huang).
Xia Zi Wei
Zi Wei is Xiao Yan Zi's best friend and swear sister. Her last name (Xia) means "summer", and her first name (Zi Wei) is a type of flower. She is the daughter of Xia Yu He and Emperor Qian Long, and because she grew up not knowing who her father was, she took her mother's last name. She is also known as Ming Zhu Ge Ge (ming zhu - a type of pearl, ge ge - princess). Zi Wei obeyed rules all the time, and was good at everything.
Xia Zi Wei
The new Xia Zi Wei from Huan Zhu Ge Ge 3 is played by Ma Yi Li.
Yong Qi/Wu A Ge
Yong Qi is the fifth son of Qian Long, known as Wu A Ge, or Fifth Prince (wu - fifth or five, a ge - prince). He is good at marshall arts, proverbs, reciting and making poems, and is a kind person.
Yong Qi/Wu A Ge
The new Yong Qi from Huan Zhu Ge Ge 3 is played by Gu Ju Ji (Leo Ku).
Fu Er Kang
Er Kang is the eldest son of a respected prime minister, Fu Lun, and Fu Ji, in Chinese meaning "first wife". He is really good at marshall arts, so he's Qian Long's personal bodyguard. He also had a good education, and is a serious kind of guy.
Fu Er Tai
Er Tai is Er Kang's little brother, well, not that little. He is Fu Lun's only other son. Unlike some brothers back then, Er Kang and Er Tai had the same mother, Fu Ji. Er Tai is also Yong Qi's best friend. He, like them, is good at making and reciting poems, proverbs, and marshall arts, though not as good as Er Kang. Er Tai is also kind and thinks of others before himself.
Jin Suo
Jin Suo is Zi Wei's personal maid. She was sold to Zi Wei's family when she was only eight years old, so she and Zi Wei practically grew up together. Jin Suo's name means "gold lock" (jin - gold, suo - lock), NOT Goldilocks (just kidding!). She is very loyal to Zi Wei, and only thinks of her. Jin Suo, like most other maids back then, was illiterate.
Emperess Dowager
The Emperess Dowager is Qian Long's mother. She only thinks of Qian Long at times. She is also very strict, and her idea of a perfect princess is one that follows rules all the time, so she didn't like Xiao Yan Zi, and when she didn't like Xiao Yan Zi she didn't like Zi Wei either. The Emperess Dowager also favors the Emperess.
Emperess
The Emperess is very strict and can get very jealous of people the Emperor likes a lot. She was chosen by the Emperess Dowager to be the Emperess after Qian Long's first Emperess died. She was also often angry because people compared her to the first Emperess. She had one son, Yong Ji, also known as Shi Er A Ge, or Twelfth Prince (shi er - twelfth or twelve, a ge - prince).
Ling Fei
Ling Fei is one of Qian Long's concubines (fei - concubine). She likes Xiao Yan Zi and Zi Wei a lot. Unlike the Emperess, she treats them really well, and when they get into trouble, she helps them get out of it. Ling Fei had two daughters - Qi Ge Ge (Seventh Princess) and Jiu Ge Ge (Ninth Princess) - and one son - Shi Wu A Ge (Fifteenth Prince).
Sai Ya
Sai Ya is a princess from Tibet (Tibet was part of China back then, but they had their own ruler). She's sort of like Xiao Yan Zi. Sai Ya doesn't know the Chinese proverbs either, and she is pretty good at marshall arts.
Han Xiang/Xiang Fei
Han Xiang is her real name. When she was Qian Long's concubine, she was known as Xiang Fei. The "Xiang" in her name translated into English is roughly "nice scent", because she was born with a flower-like scent on her body.
Qing Er
Qing Er is also known as Qing Ge Ge (Qing Princess), but she's not one of Qian Long's daughters. She is the daughter of a statesman, but he and her mother both died when she was really little, so the Emperess Dowager took her in. Qing Er is very clever, and always speaks for Xiao Yan Zi and Zi Wei when the Emperess Dowager wants to punish them.
Liu Hong
Liu Hong grew up as an orphan also, and is a very good friend of Xiao Yan Zi's. She has one brother named Liu Qing (their last name is Liu). She is very kind, and often thinks of the orphans and the homeless people who used to live with her, her brother, and Xiao Yan Zi. Liu Hong is also very good at marshall arts.
Liu Qing
Liu Qing, as I've already told you, is Liu Hong's older brother. Like his sister, he is also very kind. When Xiao Yan Zi, Zi Wei, and the others are in need, he always helps. Liu Qing is also good at marshall arts.
Meng Dan
Meng Dan is Xiao Yan Zi's marshall arts teacher. He is an okay kind of guy. He is really good at marshall, better than Liu Qing, Liu Hong, Yong Qi, Er Tai - about the same as Er Kang. But he does have a big temper, and is kind of dangerous when he's really angry.
Xiao Jian
Xiao Jian (xiao - a type of instrument, jian - sword), of course, isn't his real name. He changed his name to Xiao Jian because he wanted to find his long-lost sister, who is possibly Xiao Yan Zi. You see, their parents knew they were going to be murdered, so they sent Xiao Jian down south (Da Li) and their daughter up north (Beijing). Xiao Jian had two possessions his father left him - an instrument called "xiao" and a sword, which in Chinese is called "jian". He hoped his sister knew this story too so when she heard his name, she would know who he was. Xiao Jian is good at reciting and making poems and proverbs, and he is also better than any of the others at marshall arts. He is also kind. He has a lot of friends, who were also people he helped.
Rong Muo Muo
Rong Muo Muo is the Emperess personal servant. She is practically a mother to the Emperess. Although she hates Xiao Yan Zi and Zi Wei, she is also very loyal to the Emperess and Shi Er A Ge (Twelfth Prince).

NO PIC
Xiao Deng Zi, Xiao Zhuo Zi (in the first HZGG), Ming Yue, Cai Xia
Xiao Deng Zi, Xiao Zhuo Zi, Ming Yue, and Cai Xia are all Xiao Yan Zi and Zi Wei's servants at their house in the palace called Shu Fang Zai. Their family were all poor, so that's why they were taken into the palace to become servants. They were also illiterate, like most servants back then. They are very loyal, and would never betray Xiao Yan Zi, Zi Wei, and the others.
