Ah, the Welsh Pembroke Corgi. They are sort of like the Welsh Pony of Cob Type, smaller, but with excellent bone. The Corgi is a low slung, strong, sturdy and active companion. Corgis are bold, yet kind, and should never be shy or vicious. They have big ears, no tail and a fox like face. To quote the standard, the Corgi coat is "Medium length; short, thick, weather - resistant undercoat with a coarser, longer outer coat." It is a shedding coat and an easy care coat. Welsh Pembroke Corgis are wonderful with kids and other animals - including ponies!!! They are among the smallest members of the Herding Group with both males and females not exceeding 27 to 30 lbs.. I, personally, have never been around or known a more congenial, patient, loyal, intelligent and concerned companion for family or farm.
