Teenagers working at the local mall sneak in supplies and wait until the mall locks up for an intimate party night. The mall has a sophisticated robot security system that goes into attack mode after a malfunction and kills the human guards. Now the teens must run for their lives and try to find a way out of the mall using materials available in different mall stores.

Characters:

Alison Parks (Kelli Maroney)- The heroine of our story,

can do some pretty impressive things because her father was a Marine.

Ferdy Meisel (Tony O'Dell)- The geek who tags along with the whole gang.

He is setup with Alison to keep him quiet about the party.

Greg (Nick Segal)- Fairly level-headed guy until he sees his girlfriend get a crispy death. Then he looses it, in more than one way.

Suzie (Barbara Crampton)- Greg's girlfriend, she flips out for no good reason and convinces all the girls to leave the safe air duct.
 

Michael (John Terlesky)- He's the one with the beer.

Leslie (Suzee Slater)- Michael's girlfriend. Gets chased around by the robots and then her head explodes.
 

Linda (Karrie Emerson)- Married to Rick, accidentally runs into a laser beam and dies.

Rick (Russell Todd)- Married to Linda. After seeing Linda killed he drives a golf cart into a robot.
 

Protectors - A lightning bolt to the main computer turns these robots into killbots.

The name of the company is Securetronics unlimited.

The series of the robot is Protector 101. The series of the terminator in "The Terminator" is also 101.

*The voice of the Protectors is Jim Wynorski.

*The movie was originally called Killbots. But due to poor sales, it was renamed Chopping Mall. This led to better sales.

*There were 5 robots made for the movie. 1 was fully articulated. The others were for special occasions.
