1860 listed as a Farmer in Albuquerque 1864 bought house at 1805 1/2 Lomas N.W. from Rafael Apodaca April 2, 1884 with Juanita Huning bought house at 425 San Felipe, N.W. in Albuquerque, New Mexico 1887 sold this same house to Leonardo Huning 1897-1900 sold the 1864 house (see above) to daughter, Josefita, Boundaries were, on the north the road to Carnuel, on the south the property of the Jesuits, on the east Luciano's property and on the west the land of Abel Duran, it included three small houses and an orchard. 1901 laborer living in Old Alburquerque 1904 a leatherworker, lived with Juan, a gardener in Old Alburquerque His children operated a market near the southwest corner of the Plaza of Old Alburquerque

Josefita Duran was one of two daughters and eleven sons of Luciano Duran and Rosalia (Garcia??) Montolla. A wonderful newspaper article on
her appeared on the front page of the Albuquerque Tribune, April 29, 1958 on the occassion of her 90th birthday. This newspaper article is
the source of most of the information on Josefa/Josefita Duran de Vau. The articles recounts some of her early memories of Albuquerque and
highlights that she is the oldest descendent of Juan Rafael Duran, who was one of the original settlers of Albuquerque.
Josefa Duran is listed on the 1925 Albuquerque directory as living at 1729 1/2 W New York Avenue and is identified as the widow of Quirino {Vau}.
Josefa Duran's house was located on the old family ranch known as "Rancho Seco" [i.e. Dry Ranch]. This house was built in a U-shape and was fort-like, dating back to the times of Indian raids. From the back of this house began the land of her Father, Luciano Duran.
Josefita, as she was called, Duran was the Godmother for Alfred Duran Chaves.

Abel Duran is listed in the 1926 Albuquerque City Directory on page 277, as a machinist helper for the Santa Fe Railroad. His address is listed as Old Albuquerque. His wife is listed as Refugio G.
According to Alfred Duran Chavez, Abel Duran lived on Mountain Road in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
