He married Maria Rosalia Montolla in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, August 7, 1847.⁽⁴¹²⁾ Maria was born in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico October 21, 1832.⁽⁴¹³⁾ Maria⁽⁴¹⁴⁾ was the daughter of Jose Montolla and Dolores Garcia. Maria died after 1880.⁽⁴¹⁵⁾ She was baptized in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, October 23, 1832. 1860 listed as a Farmer in Albuquerque 1864 bought house at 1805 1/2 Lomas N.W. from Rafael Apodaca April 2, 1884 with Juanita Huning bought house at 425 San Felipe, N.W. in Albuquerque, New Mexico 1887 sold this same house to Leonardo Huning 1897-1900 sold the 1864 house (see above) to daughter, Josefita, Boundaries were, on the north the road to Carnuel, on the south the property of the Jesuits, on the east Luciano's property and on the west the land of Abel Duran, it included three small houses and an orchard. 1901 laborer living in Old Alburquerque 1904 a leatherworker, lived with Juan, a gardener in Old Alburquerque His children operated a market near the southwest corner of the Plaza of Old Alburquerque

Juan R. Duran is listed in the 1925 Albuquerque City Directory as having a wife, Cipriana, and a shop "Duke City Bicycle Shop" and a residence in Old Albuquerque.

Josetomas Duran⁽⁴⁶⁵⁾ was born in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico January 15, 1853.⁽⁴⁶⁶⁾ He married Amelia Celago in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, October 13, 1900.⁽⁴⁶⁷⁾ Amelia was born in Old Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico.⁽⁴⁶⁸⁾ (Additional notes for Amelia Celago⁽⁴⁶⁹⁾) Alfred Chavez remembers that Tomas Duran lived on 12th Street, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

61 iv. Francisco Duran⁽⁴⁷⁰⁾ was born in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico April 13, 1855.⁽⁴⁷¹⁾ He married Luisa Montoya in San Felipe De Neri Church, Old Town, Albuquerque, Bernalillo, on March 17, 1904.⁽⁴⁷²⁾ Francisco Duran, 45 years of age, from old Albuquerque, New Mexico married Luisa Montoya, aged 32, old Albuquerque, New Mexico by Francis Durante, S.J. at San Felipe de Neri Church in Old Town, Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico.

Luisa was born 1868.⁽⁴⁷³⁾ Alfred Chavez remembers that Francisco Duran lived by the Indian School in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

62 v. Jose Teofilo Duran⁽⁴⁷⁴⁾ was born February 8, 1857.⁽⁴⁷⁵⁾

63 vi. Juana Duran⁽⁴⁷⁶⁾ was born 1858.⁽⁴⁷⁷⁾ Juana was adopted.⁽⁴⁷⁸⁾ Juana Duran is listed in the household of Luciano Duran and his wife Rosalia in the 1880 census of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is listed as a white, female, aged 22 and adopted.

In the "Founders of Albuquerque" by Donald S. Dreesen, Juana is listed as adopted.

64 viii. Antonio Duran⁽⁴⁷⁹⁾ was born in New Mexico 1861.⁽⁴⁸⁰⁾ According to Alfred Chavez, Antonio Duran went to work at a steel mill and went blind from the working conditions.

65 ix. Bartolo Duran⁽⁴⁸¹⁾ was born 1862.⁽⁴⁸²⁾

66 x. Jose Duran⁽⁴⁸³⁾ was born 1866.⁽⁴⁸⁴⁾

67 xi. Josefa Duran⁽⁴⁸⁵⁾ was born in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico April 29, 1868.⁽⁴⁸⁶⁾ Josefa died after 1958.⁽⁴⁸⁷⁾ She married Quirino Vau. (Additional notes for Quirino Vau⁽⁴⁸⁸⁾) Quirino died about 1918 in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico.⁽⁴⁸⁹⁾ Josefita Duran was one of two daughters and eleven sons of Luciano Duran and Rosalia (Garcia??) Montolla. A wonderful newspaper article on her appeared on the front page of the Albuquerque Tribune, April 29, 1958 on the occassion of her 90th birthday. This newspaper article is the source of most of the information on Josefa/Josefita Duran de Vau. The articles recounts some of her early memories of Albuquerque and highlights that she is the oldest descendent of Juan Rafael Duran, who was one of the original settlers of Albuquerque.

Josefa Duran is listed on the 1925 Albuquerque directory as living at 1729 1/2 W New York Avenue and is identified as the widow of Quirino {Vau}.

Josefa Duran's house was located on the old family ranch known as "Rancho Seco" [i.e. Dry Ranch]. This house was built in a U-shape and was fort-like, dating back to the times of Indian raids. From the back of this house began the land of her Father, Luciano Duran.

Josefita, as she was called, Duran was the Godmother for Alfred Duran Chaves.

68 xii. Abel Duran⁽⁴⁹⁰⁾ was born in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico 1872.⁽⁴⁹¹⁾ Abel died 1849 in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, at less than one year of age.⁽⁴⁹²⁾ He married Rufugio. (Additional notes for Rufugio⁽⁴⁹³⁾) She became the mother of Pedro Guerra Duran in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, May 22, 1897.⁽⁴⁹⁴⁾

At 24 years of age Abel became the father of Pedro Guerra Duran in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, May 22, 1897.⁽⁴⁹⁵⁾ According to Millie Santillanes, Abel Duran's granddaughter, he worked for the railroad and also was a farmer, raising chickens and hogs to provide for his family. "He worked the land, growing his own vegetables and herbs until he could no longer handle the hoe and the rake."

Abel Duran is listed in the 1926 Albuquerque City Directory on page 277, as a machinist helper for the Santa Fe Railroad. His address is listed as Old Albuquerque. His wife is listed as Refugio G.

According to Alfred Duran Chavez, Abel Duran lived on Mountain Road in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
