The G60 supercharger was developed by VW engineers based on a steam engine design from the early 1900's. The RS G60 is a racing specification charger built by TEC in Germany with the following modifications;

1.Uprated bearings to give a higher rev limit
2.Uprated oil seals to withstand the greater oil pressure and higher revs
3.Anti friction coating to minimise mechanical consumption and provide more boost
4.Entire unit gas flowed to achieve more boost and allow faster pressure set up
5.Twin belt system to provide extra protection at very high revs
6.All internals balanced to allow smoother running and higher revs
7.Modified displacer

"Running in" procedure

The new charger has to be ran-in, this is acheived by not reving the engine over 2,800 rpm for 1,000 Miles.
Impressions of the uprated charger are very good, the most noticeable difference is in the low end.
