ANDY MCMAHAN Born- 3.16.78 Height- 6'2" Weight- 210 Bats- Both Throws- Right Mac is a "light switch" player both offensively and defensively. One game he will be "on" and the next game he will be "off". In a double header, it is not un-common for Mac to go 10 for 12 one game and 4 for 12 the next. Mac steps to the plate each at-bat wanting to get on base. He will gladly take a free pass to first if that means getting on base to score runs. He likes to switch it up each at-bat. Taking equal turns from both sides of the plate. He is a better power hitter from the right side and a better contact hitter from the left. The opposing team stands a much better chance to strike him out when he bats from the right. Mac is not the next Cy Young by any stretch of the definition. He has been known to throw a few gems from the hill, but those games are a rarity in the CWL. Mac’s bread and butter is his curve. The problem with this is, it only takes the opposing team about two innings to adjust, then its swing away time on Van Davis. Mac is your average wiffle baller. He has both strengths and weaknesses in all categories of the game. With Mac you never know, throw one down the pipe and it could fly out of the yard or trickle to the mound.
