ARE YOU READY FOR SOME WIFFLEBALL?
Josh Cartwright

What a sucky picture!
That's right, you heard me.....the wiffleball league is back! The league's top two officials, Andy McMahan and Josh Cartwright recently met to discuss the upcoming league, and here's what we decided on after many painstaking hours of discussion (not really, we watched "Batman" more than we talked about wiffleball).

Opening day has been set for April 2nd, which is the first Saturday of the month. We'll also have a few weeks of spring training beginning on March 12th to get back into the swing of things.

We also came to the conclusion that we'll have a 24-game season which may or may not be shortened depending on how much we're burnt out before the final games approach, but I'm planning on playing all the scheduled games. We'll also have a break at the halfway point of the season while Mac is out of town.

Most of the basic rules we've always used will apply to this year's league. The only real change is that we will no longer have a playoff format like the one used back in the VDWB days. We've decided to do away with the 3-on-3 championship game and go with a more simple system. We'll still have the points system, but this year, if you're the points leader after the final game, you're the champion. No playoffs whatsoever. The whole 3-on-3 championship game just didn't work.

I've made a lot of preparations so far to ensure this year will be the best year we've had so far and hopefully we won't run into any of the same problems that halted the season a couple of years ago. If you guys think of anything new we can do or if there's something cool you would like to see added to the site, let me know.
