JOSH CARTWRIGHT Born- 12.10.76 Height- 5'10" Weight- 170 Bats- Both Throws- Right Josh Cartwright is a complete player on the offensive side of the ball. Cartwright can hit from either side of the plate with consistency, but favors the left side. Cartwright is a dead pull hitter with the ability to hit for power as well as average, but given the right situation, Josh can take the ball to the opposite field if needed (but it don't happen much). But in most cases, it's all-or-nothing for Cartwright. He heads to the plate looking to hit the ball out of the park. Cartwright has a decent eye which keeps the strikeout totals low, but given his all-or-nothing attitude, the walks are also low (he rarely takes the free base). Josh also has good speed on the bases which contributes to his hit totals. Easily the biggest drawback from Josh's overall game is his pitching ability, which is mediocre at best. Cartwright has decent stuff on the hill, but control is an issue. Cartwright throws two solid pitches, the fastball and the riser, but if one of the two isn't making it over the plate for strikes, he tends to lean on one pitch and usually gets smoked for a big inning (or several big innings). Defensively, Josh is as good as they come in the CWL. His speed helps him track down long fly balls and his soft hands nearly always ensure a catch. Pegging runners is an issue, but who doesn't that apply to? Josh also has the ability to come up with the spectacular catch on occasions.
