[Tragedy]
Act 1
Scene 2

The factory loomed above him like some unearthly behemoth made of rust and iron in a dirt colored sky. Getting inside was a simple task. The door to the factory lay to one side the entrance, having rusted and fallen off apparently years ago.

Unnaturally blue eyes darted over the area, taking in every detail as he searched for any signs that might indicate that someone had been inside.

Seeing nothing immediately, Rion walked further into the factory. Murky light shown in through broken windows and various holes in the walls and ceiling. He could hear a strange creaking, banging, grinding sound in front of him somewhere. Something moving, working within the corpse of the building.

Rion moved towards the sound, clouds up dust swirling around his feet with every step. Cautiously he looked from left to right, an unexplained uneasy feeling settling in on his mind like a fog.

His hand instinctively went to the pouch at his waist. His fingers finding the familiar form of the various pills, vials, and the Beeject that were there.

Then, as if on cue, something leapt from the shadows at that exact moment. The creature landed at Rion’s left, only a few feet from where he stood. It bared its teeth and began to move towards him, its razor sharp nails making clicking sounds against the dirty floor.

The Arabesque was too close for Rion to risk charging an attack. Instead, the boy turned and fled. The Arabesque was a stupid creature, from what he remembered, and could be easily lost.

This, however, did not seem like the same Arabesque that he remembered. He could hear it behind him as it followed. It uttered a strange, almost gurgling cry as it leapt over Rion and landed on the floor in front of him.

Rion skidded to an abrupt halt and darted to his left, running as fast as he could down an unfamiliar hall. He could hear it behind him, snarling and clicking, as it got closer. Then, after a brief moment of thought, Rion spun around quickly, raising his arms to begin to charge for an attack.

Too late, too fast. The Arabesque was already on him, knocking him to the floor as it pounced and landed on his chest. Rion was thrown backwards, slamming his back and head hard against the cold floor.
As soon as the pain hit him, he knew he might loose consciousness. His vision blurred as he tried to fight off the Arabesque and his limbs began to feel heavy.

…I…can’t…

He could just barely make out some kind of noise near him and could see the form of the arabesque turn in that direction. It made a noise that could’ve been a snarl as Rion finally lost consciousness and faded into an uncomfortable darkness.
