After each day of skiing in at the beautiful Aspen ski resort, we would worship God together in the big meeting room in the hotel with four other church groups. On the second to last night of the trip, March 21, 1994, I was singing "Awesome God" and all of sudden I was hit by a force (The Holy Spirit) that I had never felt before. And all of sudden I knew all the answers to the questions I previously had about Christianity. I knew I had just been saved. I felt soooo much love it scared me. But I loved it. People noticed a change about me, but I didnt want to tell them. I knew what it was, but I wasnt used to talking about God yet.

Two weeks after I had been saved, I still hadnt told anyone and the feeling I felt went away. I didnt know what to do. But that same year in July I went to a Lutheran youth gathering with 35,000 kids in Atlanta and that was the beginning of my walk with Christ. After I got home, some of my friends had gone to DC'94 and we all got together and shared our experiences, and I did so with mine from Atlanta. That is the first time I opened up about God. It felt so good. Starting then, I wanted to soak up the Word and I wanted it bad! I went to 2 Bible studies, 2 youth groups and a Christian drama group. I was learning as much as I could about God. But then I heard a verse from one of my youth pastors that said that God wanted us to walk with Him and not to run. And I was defenitely running, and I knew that God was telling me to just do a few things with Him and not everything. But I made sooo many friends through Him, and I still have many of those friends now. I love them all to death, and I have now been called to do youth ministry with my wife. Currently I am volunteering, but if God calls me to a full-time position, I will will faithfully serve Christ in that role. I couldn't do it without God, my friends and my wife who I met while at Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska studying to become a youth leader. BUT GOD GETS ALL THE GLORY!!
