| Having been given back a human body by Leoni, it felt strange to be back at the house of my father. But who was living here, there was a candle in the window, so I decided to investigate. I cast a lurk spell and slipped into the shadows. I made my way up to the door and eased into the house. The house was just as I remember it. There is where I found her.... my older sister Goldmoon, she had escaped or left when I was attacking my father all those years ago. I left the house and then decided that I would write Goldmoon.... I remember that fateful day as if it were yesterday. My father... our father knew of my magical capabilities. I was his favourite daughter. I remember the day my mother died, it was soon afterward you was adopted. I remember my father saying that you could replace the life of my mother. But when he asked me to bring her back from her grave, I refused. He told me of his plans to use you... to kill you, just so my mother could be brought back. I could never do this to you. I remember the vile, the one he asked me to give to you. I couldn't do it to you, I just couldn't. You were my favourite sister. We had fun together, looking through father's old tomes. You trusted me with your heart. I was not about to turn on you. That is why my father turned his back on me. He locked me in my room, so I could not see you any more. I could never reach you, because you was always with him, and he threatened to use me for his evil deeds if I was ever to leave the room. I tried to warn you. Oh I did. Every chance I got I left out some of his tomes for you to read, to digest, to learn... to learn how evil father really was. But it was too late. He had worked his way to you, and he to do it himself. I caught father at work. I could see you laying there... motionless, with the corpse of my mother laying next to you. What could I do? I was young then. He spotted me, but I ran. I ran as far as I could. I found a little place where some kind dwarves were happy to keep me. I had lost many years of practice in the arcane, I was too distraught. I returned home to find the place was burned to the ground. My father was there, dead. My youngest sister was dead too. The burned remains of my mother lay on the table where it was that fateful night. However, there was no sign of you. I assumed all was lost. I thought that you had passed on into the other realm, where you would find peace. Receiving your letter has shown me that I still have a family left. You are the last of my family. I do not blame you for what you had done. I am just happy that you have your human body returned to you, and that you can roam this world again, just like you used to. I see that you have studied hard, just like you used to. May we live long and prosper, and that we can right the wrongs of our fathers legacy. May your hate be turned into that of experience, and that you can continue your life, and progress the way that we had both dreamed about. Yours Faithfully Jade Goldmoon |
