Its been one week since the surgery. It hasn't been overly bad, save for Sunday, the second day after the surgery. I was sick from the anethesia. My headache lasted the whole day and I couldn't keep anything down. Doctor reassured me that that's normal and that it should pass by the next day. Thankfully, it did!

The first couple of days, all I could do was lay around. By Wednesday I was getting cabin fever and had a friend drive me to the salon so I could get my hair washed and cut. Even though I could shower, trying to wash my hair wasn't a lot of fun. Trying to reach hurt. I didn't sleep very well, I think partially on account that I had to sleep on my back when I'm a side sleeper. By Wednesday I could lay on my left side for short periods of time, but no way near the whole night.

I had my post-op appointment with Dr. Janitch on 26 August. He told me that I was doing really well and that everything looked good. The "T's" on both my breasts were checked ... that's the bottom of the "anchor" incisions, where the line down from the nipple meets the line below the breast. There's a greater chance of skin breakdown here because of the three folds of skin coming together. I was told to keep up with the dressings I was doing and to use an antibiotic cream on the T's. I also could start wearing a sports bra, but didn't have to.

Back to activity as normal, as long as I'm not lifting more than 10 pounds and I don't have pain. That includes driving, but even now, over a week after the surgery, I'm just not comfortable driving yet. I think I'll feel better about it in another week or so.

Another check up in two weeks; and in 7-10 days, I can stop the dressings I've been changing as well as take off the dressings the doctor put there.

I know you're wondering, so here you go ... the first picture was taken not long before the surgery and the second was taken on 26 August, one week later. I know the before pic is on the main page, but I put them side by side for easy comparison. Looking at just my chest, you wouldn't know I was the same person!

Yes, I know I look flatter than a pancake in the second pic, and I was! I'd put on a tank top, looked in the mirror and gasped, "Oh my god! I have no cleavage!" It comes back, I promise! It just takes awhile for the swelling to go down.
