Why breast reduction? How could someone want smaller breasts when it seems all the famous women in the world are well endowed? Believe it or not, there are many reasons! I started puberty around age 10 and had my first training bra in fourth grade. By 6th grade I had classmates teasing me about stuffing my bra. I took dance classes, and let me tell you, it was no fun NOT wearing a bra in some of our costumes! In high school and college I was known as "Jill - you know, the one with the big tits". They're not easy to hide! And try a "minimizer bra" when you're a DDD? Someone was imagining that one would work ... it doesn't! I was 21 or 22 when my Mom took me to get measured for a bra that would fit me properly. That was when I learned I was a ... drumroll please ... 44G. When the one store in my city stopped selling the larger cup bras, I had to buy them online. I was so jealous of the women who could buy a bra on sale at Wal-Mart for $3.99 when mine cost between $40 and $60. Besides being known for my breasts I also had waiters asking my breasts what they would like to order at resturants. Buying a t-shirt at a concert? Sure - if there was one that would cover my chest and have room left over. I had to work around them shooting pool, I couldn't run, jump rope or dance because they bounced so much it hurt. Eventually it got the point where I was having horrific pain in my lower back, shoulders, neck and breasts on a weekly basis. We're talking hiding in the bathroom at work holding my breasts up with my hands trying not to cry kind of hurting. That's when I knew I had to do something. |
