York Region Learning Connections provide programs for International Visa Students. We also provide ESL Summer School for International Students. The York Region District School Board serves close to 110,000 students in 179 schools. Accommodations for visiting students will be arranged in safe and secure family homes, within close proximity to your child's schools and pubic transportation.

Application Process (Full year program)

  1. Submit the completed application, all applicable fees, immunization form and 2 years transcripts to the Admission Officer.

  2. Once accepted, the acceptance letter and receipt are issued and forwarded to the applicant or their agent.
  3. Apply to the Canadian Embassy in your home country for a Study Permit. The acceptance letter should be attached to your application to submitted to the Canadian Embassy as proof of acceptance to an educational institution in Canada
  4. Once approved by Immigration, make arrangements to travel to Canada. It is recommended that the student arrives in Canada at least one week prior to classes commencing.
  5. Visit your designated school as indicated on your acceptance letter. The school will contact the Newcomer Reception Centre and make an appointment on your behalf for an educational assessment.
  6. Contact the school for an appointment to register and arrange your timetable.
