Colony GL-552-X98 Construction Begins

Plans for a new colony in Quadrant 01 had been underway for quite some time. The new colony was planned to start construction three months ago, but was delayed from the increased meteor activity in Quadrant 01. Construction plans resumed last Sunday on Earth. Building has already begun yesterday. The construction is being built under civilian power, but when completed will be given to the first military organization that purchases it. Plans for its completion are predicted to take a week or two with the numerous amount of workers helping construction.

Colony plans are for half residence and business, and half military. Constructors also plan to permit civilians to set residence there, and also support whatever military presence occupies it. It is also believed to bring an increased job market for civilian residents. As for economic and government policy, it is unknown until whoever purchases the colony. Earth Alliance, who believes that they will be the first to occupy the colony claim that they would run a military-ran government program, and split taxes between business and military equally. But other anti-earth fed civilians claim that the policy would be overran by government and leave business crippled. "Ha! The Earth Federation is so damn greedy with its money. If they ever took over the new colony, their economic policy would fall directly into the hands of military. They would steal all the taxes gained from business sector and spend it all for themselves!" says European civilian Daniel Gurrin.

The future of colony GL-552-X98 is uncertain for now. It will only be decided when some military organization occupies the new colony. The completion is being very highly anticipated for civilians seeking business positions and for military organizations as well to expand their levels beyond their home bases.
