Moving on....
In November 1988 my family had shifted to Jurong West(a walking distance from NTU) and we have been living here for almost 15 years to date.
Because of that both my sister and I were transfered to Xingnan Primary School(Just a stone throw away from NTU).
Frankly speaking, I'm a very slow learner and I'm particularly poor in my English, therefore I do not enjoy English lessons because my teachers, to be honest,
are not of the top grade kind and did not have too much patience with me. However there are some things in primary school life I'll always remember:
1. We always have a "brush teeth" session in which we were each given a small cup with toothbrush and toothpaste and we'll have to gather near the wash basin to brush teeth together.
I remember my cup is red in colour.
2.We bought thin, rectangular erasers with flags of various countries printed on top and we'll always try to win other peoples' erasers in a game which we use our thumb to manoeuvre the eraser and try to get it on top our opponent's eraser in order to win it over.
3. Doughnuts, currypuffs and other malay kueh cost 20cents each while chicken wings cost 30cents.
4. We kids always look forward for cartoons at 6.30pm everyday. I remember there's Captain Planet on Tuesdays(or Thursdays?), Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck on Wednesdays,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on Fridays.
5. We guys always like to catch spiders and trap them in cases be it empty cassette tape cases, empty film rolls or anything else and stuffed them with leaves.
