Restaurant/Pansion "Murvica"

The island of Hvar with its air line length of 68km is the largest island on the Adriatic and because of many sunny days per year, proudly carries the name "Croatian Madeira".
The distinct attraction of the island sure give you wild pine-forests and aromatically herbs of lavender, rosemary, sage, oregano and fennel as well as vineyards and olive-groves.
Well-indented shore hides and offers lovely and lively places for swimming: from sand-beaches to rocky coves or from crowded beaches to little bays out-of-the-way.

Jelsa is situated in the middle part of the island with great-formed tourism.
The town offers all the services like post office, banks, gas and bus stations, doctors' offices, drug store, postmaster's offices as well as open green market and supermarkets and many nice restaurants, pastry shops, coffee bars and discotheques.
Also there are different sports grounds where you can play tennis, table tennis or mini-golf (and other sports in our new sports arena).
If you like diving you can learn more in Diving school;
you can rent a boat and ride off to the peninsula called Glavica or little island of Zečevo where you can enjoy in the nudist beaches, just in front of the port or you can wander in the nature by renting motor-bike or bicycle.

Restaurant/Pansion Murvica

We are located in a quiet, ancient center of town, just a minute away from the main square and the port.
Since traffic is not allowed in the center of town, our parking is by the shopping center, which is very close.
From the center of town everything is in walking distance, so you can easy find municipal beaches or by taking taxi-boat from the port, you can go swimming at some distant beaches.
Croatian-German couple runs our house and we offer our hospitality throughout the year.

Terasa restaurant

Our great hospitality starts, besides the personnel, with the special atmosphere in the garden of vine-trees.
There you can choose among Croatian, Dalmatian and international specialties.
We always have a selection of fresh fish, mussels and crabs.
We also offer local specialties from the grill and vegetarian cosine from eko-gardens.

Among the great selection of sort-wines we also offer red and white wine from our own wine-cells as well as grape and herb-flavored brandy.
We are very proud of "extra vergine" olive oil we produce from our own olive-groves and gold and silver medal we won in 2000. for quality.
In the inner part of the restaurant we organized a child-care space for playing, drawing or watching cable TV.

Rooms

Our rooms are in the upper part of the house.
We have available 3 newly rebuilt double-bedroom studio apartments and one little bedroom for kids.
Each studio apartment is designed for 2 persons with mini-kitchen, mini-bar, shower/toilet and cable TV.
Kid's bedroom is equipped with two-storied bed and shower/toilet.

A trip to Humac with the host

A trip to Humac, abandoned village on the top of the hill in the middle of the island, about 9km east from Jelsa,
could be a very special event during your holidays.
In the picturesque old village surrounded by wild nature with beautiful sights on both sides of the island,
you will be served with food prepared in the old Dalmatian way and atmosphere.

How to come to Jelsa?

You can drive your own car, ride the bus, plain or train to Split. From Split harbor you take a ferryboat to Stari Grad and then 11km to Jelsa.
A ferryboat from Rijeka to Stari Grad is also available every day during the season.
