Guy Claxton’s Fellowship citation by the British Psychological Society said:

"Professor Claxton’s work…on the relevance of contemporary models of the mind to educational practice is widely acknowledged as of the highest quality by his peers…He is awarded his Fellowship in recognition of both his innovative role in advancing psychological theory, and his outstanding contributions to the practical applications of psychological ideas."

Professor Jerome Bruner, the foremost American psychologist and educator, said of Guy Claxton:

‘This is a man with intellectual nerve. Do not take his excursions into unconventional approaches as so much charming eccentricity. They are nothing of the sort. He is a genuinely concerned scholar, nervy enough to look anywhere for ideas. Guy Claxton is a genuine intellectual, broadly read, a man interested in ideas…I read his delightful, rather ‘holistic’ Penguin with delight, though I disagreed with a good deal of it.’
