Born under the sign of Virgo, I was baptized as Geminiano Villanueva Marasigan... sounds Spanish, huh! But surely , I am a true Filipino by blood and heart. My deceased father is Placido Marasigan and my mother is Ardiana Villanueva both native of Batangas. I was born and grew up in Lipa City, Batangas though I studied in the neighboring province of Batangas that is in Laguna (San Pablo City). I finished my college in San Pablo Colleges where I earned a degree in AB Mathematics. I was married to Flordeliza Sodela who is currently working as Public Health Nurse. We are blessed to have three sons – (Glenn, Glexter & Gio).
As a father and husband, I could proudly say that I am a real family man. Perhaps, it is an obvious reason why I opted to work abroad. I want to give them a happy and contented life. I want to build a stronger foundation for my children by providing them the best education they can have. I strongly believe that education is not received but it is achieved. It is one of the best tools to have a better life. Knowing that it is not easy to be far from them, I always tell my kids that if you want me to be out of homesickness, STUDY HARD and I will be very fine. That is the best thing that they can do for me.
As a friend, I am a loyal and honest one, though in many places one may meet different types of people and eventually befriend them, I still have long time friends whom I really treasured. The good times and occasionally the bad times indeed are hard to forget. Here in the Emirates, (where I considered it as my second home country since I have been here for more than thirteen years already), my friends or let me say… my brothers whom I am with always are my family here. They are the ones whom I seek for advice during the troubled times and of course they are also the ones whom I shared my help in times of need.
As a person, I am just a simple man… full of dreams not only for myself but for the people surrounding me. I never give up just because of the length of time it will take to accomplish it. I know that time will pass anyway!
