FlashCard Applet Notes

The Applet requires a Java compatible browser to run correctly.

The Java FlashCard applet was created using the freeware Borland JBuilder4 Foundation Edition from Inprise Corporation.

Zip compressed files are a common format for all platforms. For Windows users, I recommend downloading the freeware ZipCentral. It has most of the features of its more famous cousin without the price tag.

Reo Māori Flash Cards

Test and expand your knowledge of Te Reo Māori using the FlashCard applet which should load below. This applet is under 50 KB in size.

This browser does not support Java Applets. To use this applet, you need to upgrade or enable applets in your browser.

As yet, I have not learned how to read and represent macrons in Java (although Java is capable of this). In the mean time, the flash cards presented by this program use the convention of the doubled vowel. See here for an explanation.

You can also download this applet and run it off-line by downloading flashcards.zip (now with Java source code). Then unzip to any directory and use your browser to view FlashCards.html. You can then also edit the flash card definition files and create new ones on any subject.
