Yes, there are other so called herbs (ex: red/blue flowers, golden apples, lavender etc) but I find them all to be absolutely useless and do not believe they truly aid you in any way. Yes your fatigue may seem to recover some if you eat lavender.. but it would have any way at the same rate just sitting still. So I will not bother listing them here along with their rumored uses.

Alchemy:

Herbs may not be very potent in their natural state. Sometimes you must mix them into another to get the best use out of them. This also teaches mechanical lore which many of us need at least a little of.

Item Use

Mortar & Pestle

Used to crush herbs down to a mixable form. A pulp or powder that can then be mixed with a catalyst and turned into a new form.
To use:  Put herb in mortar then Crush my georin grass with my pestle etc

Wayerd Pyramid

Dries herbs. (Only works when sunny)
Put herb in pyramid, close it, put it down Guard it. It will hum as the sun shines on it. After approx 10 hums herb should be ready.

Ulonchai Bucket

Freezes herbs. Put herb in bucket, shake once (don't get ambitious and shake it several times or the familiar inside will smack you and take your bucket away.
Give it 10 minutes or thereabouts and open it, your herbs should be frozen.

Jar or bowl

Can be used to mix herbs. Put herb in jar add water and catalyst then stir with a stick.
(Ex: stir pulp in my jar with my stick)

Pouch or box

Pouches and boxes, actually anything you can close like a backpack or sack etc can be used to mix your herbs when you do not have a proper jar.
Don't tell yer mom, but put herb, water, and catalyst into the pouch (or whatnot), close it, shake it, poof mad scientist at work.

Depending on what herb you are dealing with, the steps to make your mixture will vary as well as how many doses it makes or how potent.

A basic example would be:

Forage for Georin Grass - Put Grass in Mortar and get your pestle - Crush my grass with my pestle until you have made a pulp. (some herbs make powder) - Get the pulp and place it in a pouch with 1 part water, 1 part catalyst - Close the pouch and shake it until the salve pops out. Now with all the changes to herbs and alchemy I am not sure if this is the most effective form, just a general idea of how to.

Catalysts:

Tukai stones &
Dracon crystals:
Bought in alchemy shops and found on critters. Crush once or twice so that you can break them into several smaller pieces and then crush in mortar to a powder.

Less effective:
Seolarn  weed  &
Glaysker flower
Foraged and crushed in mortar

FYI:

Ithor potion could once be made by combining Nilos pulp and Hulnik pulp, mixed with dracon powder and water. This formula used to work, but has not in the last couple years, however per a mentor 2 years ago the herb system will EVENTUALLY (keep in mind Simutime moves slower than Pathietime) be repaired and this formula and others brought back.
