About the Classes Required Courses Astronomy Students will learn the information about the skies. They will learn different constellations, star names, and other things dealing with the sky and space. Students must receive an Acceptable to continue the course after their OWLs. Charms Students will learn about the different Charms known in the the wizard world. They will learn what a spell means as well as how to cast it. Students must receive an Exceeds Expectations to continue the course after their OWLs. Defense Against the Dark Arts Students will learn about the Dark Arts. The Dark Arts involving the various spells, creatures, and items. Students must receive an Exceeds Expectations to continue the course after their OWLs. Herbology Students will learn about the different magical plants. They will learn how to identify, care for, and the uses of each plant they learn about. Students must receive an Acceptable to continue the course after their OWLs. History of Magic Students will learn about the history of the Magical world. From the start of the school to present day events. Students must receive an Acceptable to continue the course after their OWLs. Potions Students will learn about various potions. They will learn about what they do, how to brew them, what ingredients they use, and various other things. Students must receive an Outstanding to continue the course after their OWLs. Transfiguration Students will learn the art of Transfiguration. They will learn how to change something into another thing. As well as conjuring and vanishing spells. Students must receive an Exceeds Expectations to continue the course after their OWLs. Elective Courses Ancient Runes Students will learn about Runes. They will learn how read, make, cast, and about different type of runes. Students must receive an Acceptable to continue the course after their OWLs. Arithmancy Students will learn the art of Divinations with numbers. They will learn how to turn a word into a number and find out what it means. Students must receive an Exceeds Expectations to continue the course after their OWLs. Care of Magical Creatures Students will learn about various magical creatures. They will learn about how to care for the creature and various other information about them. Students must receive an Acceptable to continue the course after their OWLs. Divination Students will learn the art of telling the future through Fortune Telling as well as other forms of "Seeing" the future. Students must receive an Acceptable to continue the course after their OWLs. Muggle Studies Students will learn about the Muggle world. They will learn about various muggle devices and how they survive in a world without magic. Students must receive an Acceptable to continue the course after their OWLs. Para-Psychology Students will learn about the mind.  This includes how the mind works and how one can control others mind and protect one's mind from being intruded by others. Students must recieve an Exceeds Expectations to continue the course after their OWLs. Wandless Magic Students will learn how to use magic without the use of their wands. They will learn how to control their magic through their will. Students must receive an Exceeds Expectations to continue the course after their OWLs. World of Familiars Students will learn about Familiars. They will learn what one is and how to care for it and how they may acquire one. Students must receive an Acceptable to continue the course after their OWLs.
