NAKAMA AMENDMENT

DRAFT
The reverse order of finish from the most recent season will determine
the draft order for the upcoming season. The team with the worst record will
have the first pick and the rest of the teams will follow suit. In case of a tie
between 2-teams, total points from the most recent season will determine who
gets the earlier pick, with the team with the least amount of points getting the
earlier pick. If there is still a tie after total points, the teams will roll die with the
higher roll getting the earlier pick.
Due to the possibility of some teams withdrawing from the RSFL and
other teams dumping almost their entire roster, the number of rounds in the
draft may vary. In this case, once a roster is filled out for a team, that team
may not pick up free agents until the draft is completed.

NEW FRANCHISES
If, for some reason, any RSFL team decides to withdraw from the league
all players on that team's roster will become free agents.
The new team entering the RSFL, as a result of this, will receive the
1st overall pick in the next year's draft. The new team will also receive one
supplemental pick in the first round.
The new team will also receive the 1st pick in the second round of the
same draft. The team with the worst record in the RSFL the previous season
will receive the 1st pick in the third round. These two teams will then alternate
1st picks for each of the subsequent rounds.

PROTECTED PLAYERS
Each team in the RSFL can protect up to two players at any one.
time.

Each team can protect 1-player for 3-seasons (retained for 3 more
seasons following the year the player is drafted).

Each team can protect 1-player for 2-seasons (retained for 2-more
seasons following the year the player is drafted).

If a team wishes to retain a 3-season player for an additional
3-seasons, they will lose a 1st round draft pick in that season's draft.

If a team wishes to retain a 2-season player for an additional 2-seasons,
they will lose a 2nd round draft pick in that season's draft.

A 3-season player can be retained for 2-seasons but the team would
still lose a 1st round draft pick.

A team cannot re-sign/protect a player unless said player has been on
their roster since week #11. Also, if a team chooses not to re-sign a player or
players they do not receive any extra picks in that year's draft. The team
will fill out their roster at the end of the draft.

A team cannot sign or resign a player if they do not have the 1st round
or 2nd round pick in that season's draft to give up.

A team cannot have more than one 3-year player or one 2-year
player on their roster at any one time, unless the team makes a trade during
the RSFL season (see Trading of a Protected Player).

DROPPING PROTECTED PLAYERS
Contracts for protected players are guaranteed. However,
a team can drop a protected player at any time. If a team chooses to drop a
protected player, they cannot sign a new player until the length of the contract
of the player released has expired. The team can pick up a free agent to fill their
roster but the team cannot protect a new player until the length of the contract
for the protected player they dropped has expired. Any new player signed once
the released player's contract is up, must have been on the team's roster since
week #11. The team would still lose a draft pick based on the length of contract
they sign the new player to.
A team can drop a protected player if the protected player
suffers a career ending injury, or retires. If a protected player suffers a career
ending injury or retires and is there by released, the team releasing the
injured or retired player can then sign a new player for the up coming season
as long as the new player has been on the team's roster since week #11 of
the current season. The team signing the new player will lose a 1st or 2nd
round draft pick in the up coming season's draft, depending on the length
of contract the team signs the new player to.

CONTRACT EXPIRATION
Once the contract of a protected player has expired, a team can then
either resign the player whose contract has expired to a new contract or
sign a new player to a contract. If a team chooses to sign a new player to
a contract, the new player has to have been on the team's roster
since week #11 of the previous season. The team signing the new
player would still lose a 1st or 2nd round draft pick in that season's draft,
depending on the length of contract they sign the new player to. If the
team chooses to resign the player whose contract has expired, the team
will lose a 1st or 2nd round draft pick in that season's draft, depending
on the length of contract they resign the player to. A team can have
only one 3-year player and one 2-year player signed at any one time
unless a trade occurs (see trading of a protected player).

TRADING OF A PROTECTED PLAYER
A team can trade a protected player to another team at any time,
providing the commissioner's office approves the trade. If one of the team's
involved in the trade ends up with more than two protected players, the team
with extra protected players can keep all of the players under contract until the
contract/s has expired, providing the team has room or makes room on their
roster. Once the contract/s has expired the player/s will become free agents,
unless the team in question has no 3-year player or no 2-year player under
contract and chooses to resign said player/s. If the team in question has no
3-year player or no 2-year player currently under contract, the team can resign
any of the player/s whos contract has expired providing they give up the
appropriate draft pick/s.
If a team involved in the trading of a protected player ends up with
one or fewer contracted players on their roster, the said team cannot sign
any new players until the season in which the trade occured has ended.
The team can then sign any player that was on their roster, providing the
player has been on the team's roster since week #11 of the season in
which the trade occured. The team signing the new protected players will
still lose either a 1st or 2nd round draft pick in the up coming season's draft,
depending on the length of contract they sign the new player to.
