Due to the overwhelming number of participants HACE cannot perform this year. However, you are still welcome to attend and enjoy the show.

Hispanic Film Festival
Starting March 28 through April 28
all movies start at 7pm
HACE and the Film and History Club will host the First Annual Hispanic Film Festival. The Hispanic Film Festival is a celebration of the efforts and contributions of Hispanic directors, producers and writers to world cinema. Four major movies will be shown in the SSCB Lecture Hall:
Wednesday, March 28: “Letters from the Other Side,” a documentary about the collateral damage of illegal immigration and the effects of NAFTA on the economies of the US and Mexico. Speakers: Liliana Castillo and Dr. Christine Kovic.
Saturday, April 7: “Children of Men” directed by Alfonso Cuaron and written by Timothy Sexton and Alfonso Cuaron. A sci-fi thriller about a dystopian future and the efforts of a handful of people to redeem their planet and save the human race. Nominated for and winner of numerous awards, including Golden Globes, Academy Award and film critics Award. Speaker: Dr. Craig White
Saturday, April 21: “Volver” written and directed by Pedro Almodovar. Nominated for numerous Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations. A comedy about the ghosts that haunt families; a film about birth, death renewal and family ties. Speaker: TBA
Saturday, April 28: “Pan’s Labyrinth" written and directed by Guillermo del Toro. Told through the eyes of a little girl, whose imaginary world is inhabited by nightmarish creatures, “Pan’s Labyrinth” is a visually imaginative and allegorical take on life in post-civil war Spain. Winner of numerous Academy Awards, BAFTA awards and many more. Speaker: Dr. Theresa Van Hoy
Admission is free to the first movie only, all others are $3.00.
