Role Playing Games

The Intro

Have you ever watched a movie or cartoon, or read a book, and wished you could have played a part in it? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a sword slinger? A gun toter? A wielder of magical and mystical arts? A space pilot? Role playing games are ways of "becoming" these characters, allowing you to control their thoughts, actions, and movements. Become a wizard in the Forgotten Realms, a Hero of the Lance, a Jedi Knight against the Empire, or even a cyber-samurai making runs for cash.

Tell Me More...

I've been playing RPGs for a while now, starting when I first got a Basic Dungeons & Dragons set for Christmas when I was 8. As the years went by, I explored a few other systems, experimenting with Shadowrun, Amber, and the Palladium series: Macross, Robotech, Rifts, TMNT, and Mutants in Space. However, AD&D is still my favorite by far.

Show Me Something...

Twilight Realms: An AD&D epic campaign that I run over email. A Dark God ravages the land, intent on remaking the world in his own image. A small band of heroes embark on quest fraught with peril to regain what was once lost, and finally put an end to the darkness.
Crystallis: An AD&D campaign run over the Onelist mailing list. A group of adventurers meet by fate and magic and embark on an adventure of a lifetime. Corban is thief who wishes nothing more than to satisfy his curiousity about what lies beyond the next hill. He got more than he bargained for with this group...
Rising Verge: An Alternity RPG played over email. Contact has been lost with an area of frontier space known as the Verge. Lieutenant Alexander Page has been assigned to the Kendai Relay Station during a period that may just go down in history. Contact will be reestablished...
The UN Spacy: A Macross RPG played by message board. The Zentraedi have settled down and the Varuta have been momentarily stopped, but there is still much for the UN Peace Keeping Forces to do. 2nd Lieutenant Yamada Jiro, Valkyrie pilot and Otaku, has been recently transferred to the UNS Aerie of the Rim Expeditionary Forces on the edges of known space. Within a few hours of his transfer, he is thrown into a chaotic world of danger and adventure.
The Night Below: A Forgotten Realms RPG played over the Onelist distribution list. Madoc, a Tainted Spear and Priest of Tyr, joins a group of adventurers on a simple mission to deliver a chest of spell components. On their journey, they are attacked by farmers, spawning an adventure that they'd never dreamed possible.
