I'm working on a series of pictures of anonymous faces. They've been created from images obtained from the internet, using either Photoshop or Painter 5, or both.
Why would you do that? I hear you ask. Well, because, for one thing, the character is a mystery. Is it possible to divine a personality from a face? One is compelled - by ancient genetic programming - to have reactions to faces. Our personal face-analysis software (for want of a better phrase) is one of the most complex areas of the brain, and one over which we have little control. The history of the human race has been dictated by the random whims of the mutual examination of faces.
If one of Hitler's parents had been born with a slightly different shaped nose or eyes a little closer together, they may never have married and Poland might never have been invaded.
