ADVICE
: The first steps to learning dream analysis
Dream analysis is very difficult - it involves intuition and all sorts of skills. You have to think on different levels
But - you can learn the basics. Start with dream dictionaries. They are very useful. They teach you the basics. They are not the perfect answer because you will not get everything you need from them - things never quite fit properly.
Start by finding all the words that have symbolic meanings. Check though your different dream dictionaries they all give different answers. Take the following dream
In my house there was a large pool with boat floating on top. The boat was rocking as the wind was blowing strongly. I was proud of my boat and wanted to secure it and stop it sinking. People were stood watching me and did nothing.
Start by looking for dream dictionary references.
"BOAT" : "Emotional life journey"
"HOUSE" : "home of personality - the self"
"POOL" : "emotions close to person"
And from that you can build up a dream interpretation
Interpretation. The dream features your house - this is the mansion
of the soul. It is the place where your personality lives. So this dream deals
with the dreamers personality. The boat links to the persons emotional life.
The dreamer is proud of the boat and so proud of their life and achievements.
But rough times are ahead as the wind picks up. The pool indicates the dream
is about the persons close emotions. Overall the dreamer is proud and determined
and tries frantically in the face of adversity to remain strong. The pool
is inside maybe indicating that they keep their close emotions to themselves.
Also look for synonyms - if a name is mentioned of a place or a person try to look for plays on words and synonyms. A person named butcher may be in the dream because someone has butchered your emotions. The number three may link the dream with a choice - FREEWILL. A fish may be in a dream to symbolize a phrase such as their are plenty more fish in the sea. A person with a name like ANDON may be in the dream as a synonym(e.g. ANDON = hand on ). Look for these wordplays as they are extremely common
Try reading books. Look for books with actual dreams in them - and correctly analyzed ones. Look in forums. I often do that. Look for dreams with several replies - and make sure the person has posted back - and stated that the dream was correctly analyzed. You will know that that dream was probably correctly analyzed - so learn from it.
When you start answering posts try to keep to the same people and try to get as much information as possible about them. The dreammoods.com forum has a FIND button. Click that find button on the person who has posted. You may pick information from previous posts. Some posts will be on the chat sections of such sites.
Start off with small dreams - you will understand them more easily. With longer dreams you will have to read through them twice or three times.
