BIS2003: Abstract

Adaptive algorithms in retrieval and filtering of information at congested bandwidth context.”

Information overload is a common scenario in retrieval requests at the world wide web. The users are usually flooded with information and most of them are irrelevant to the request. Numerous utilities have been evolved in recent years, but, yet to be an ideal one. Therefore, the areas of information retrieval and information filtering have become an active research domain.

Information retrieval and information filtering are two aspects of information handling methods. Though both of them has obtained enough research interest by specialists in this fields, utilizing computerized methodologies further refinement is always possible. By exploring existing utilities and processes involved, recommendations may be made. There are scope of integration, adaptation, and formation of learning sequences to improve approaches and techniques. Providing capacity to adapt dynamically developed relevance factors in adoptive algorithms the retrieval and filtering techniques can be improved significantly throughout the sequences without enough external interventions.

Proposition has been put forward indicating existing procedures and providing hints to improve further, including provision of future researches.
