Engr. Md. Hakikur Rahman, PhD., has been working as the Project Coordinator of the Sustainable Development Networking Programme (SDNP) of Bangladesh, a global initiative of UNDP in Bangladesh since December 1999. Also acting as the Secretary of South Asia Foundation Bangladesh Chapter, an initiative on regional cooperation in South Asian region. Before joining the SDNP he has been working as the Director, Computer Division, Bangladesh Open University. Besides other activities he has written several books on computer education for the informal sector and distance education. He is the Founder-Chairperson of Internet Society of Bangladesh Chapter, Editor of the Monthly Computer Bichitra, Principal and Member Secretary of ICMS Computer College, Head Examiner (Computer) of Bangladesh Technical Education Board and involved in activities related to establishment of an IT based distance education university in Bangladesh. Graduating from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1981, he has done his Master's of Engineering from the American University of Beirut in 1986 and completed his PhD in Computer Engineering from the Ansted University, UK in 2001. |
