DIFFERENT TYPES OF ARTICLES AND SITUATIONS

1.    A short story is a good example for the use of the simple past tense; the following paragraph is taken from a short story written by Robert O’Neill. The title of this short story is “the forger”:

      “The burglar looked down from the roof. The lights of Paris were below. The Eiffel Tower was in the distance. It shone brightly in the night. The view was beautiful. But the burglar had not come to enjoy the view. There was work to be done.

       It was just past midnight. A few drops of rain were falling and the roof was wet and dangerous. It was the roof of a small art gallery. The gallery sold the paintings inside were worth very large amounts of money….”

 

 

2.    The following situations will explain the use of the present perfect tense:
