I was brousing the RootsWeb and found your page on our common ancestor. I've
been in close touch for a number of years with a French cousin through
Marie-Jeanne Girard who found some records on Jean-Baptiste and Marie-Jeanne.
Here are the details. He also says the original name was actually
"LeFlocq," which he says is Breton.

Jean-Baptiste LeFlocq, b. Nov. 3, 1712 in Versailles, France. d. Sept. 25,
1780, Mobile.

Jacques LeFlocq, Jean-Baptiste's father, was from Versailles and worked in
the stables of the King. Magdeleine Vichet, his wife, was also from
Versailles, b. Aug. 15, 1690. If I find the copy of the original French
documents our cousin in France sent, I'll be happy to copy them and send them
to you.

Here's an excerpt from a recently-published book on our family (Clara Sue is
now at OU).

"The Leflores descended from Jean Baptiste LeFlau, a French soldier who was
in Mobile by 1735 and married Marie Jeanne Girard. Jean Baptiste's son,
Louis, was born on June 29, 1762. Louis married Rebecca and Nancy Cravat,
who were of mixed French-English-Choctaw heritage and nieces of Pushmataha.
Rebecca gave birth to a son, Greenwood, on June 3, 1800."

I'm trying to find out more about my ancestor Polly Cravatt Fillecutcha, to
wit, who her parents were. In sworn testimony before the Choctaw County
Courts, and in testimony before the Dawes Commission in MS, her family says
she was full-blood, but half Choctaw and half Chickasaw. Others have
suggested that she might really have been Choctaw/Chokchiuma.
