- Keep similar links on the right side or at the bottom of the page.
- Follow the same order for the links on all the pages.
- Keep important links on all the pages of the website and on the same location.
- Important links must be visible without the need to scroll the page on website.
- If possible put important links at the top and bottom of a web page.
- Avoid placing of navigation links on different place of different web pages.
- You can also place navigation in the running text of your website, pick up the important word that can be linked to other web page in a website, this can be useful if a visitor on your website is looking for more or related information.
- If you have lots of links and there is no place to accommodate them on a page, then use DHTML Menus to save space on a webpage. Divide your links into different categories and possibly subcategories, then use layers to hide and show links as menus.
- Visitors must be taken to the appropriate page, when he / she click on a link.
- Avoid links to other website which are not relevant to the contents of your web site.
