Awakenings
Robert De Niro and Robin Williams
Starring the hilariously funny Robin Williams and the accomplished actor Robert De Niro. Awakenings is a very moving and powerfully affective true life story about a shy doctor who discovers that his comatose patients still have a life to live and have life within them. Directed in 1990 by Penny Marshall who had earlier directed 'BIG' and 'JUMPING JACK FLASH' this is a very excellent film to watch with your girlfriend. Although this isn't a lads movie which would be watched with beer and fatty foods, it is still an good movie for any mind to be introduced to. Other actors include Julie Kavner who plays the love interest of Dr Malcolm Sawyer (Williams) who is well known for providing the voice of Marge in the hit series 'SIMPSON'S' and also Penelope Ann Miller who also starred in Carlitos's way along side Al Pacino.
