Hans the Musician As well as being a talented actor, Hans follows a family tradition as a musician and songwriter. He plays guitar, violin and harmonica, and writes and performs his own material. He sings the song "Live for Today" in the movie "Still Crazy". He can also be heard singing the song "Chained To Loving You" on the "Mojo" soundtrack. Hans learned the violin for his role as the violinist Jeno Varga in "Canone Inverso" and continues to play it to this day. Recently he collaborated with his father Iain (Ado) Matheson on Ado's album "Out on The Islands" released in July 2003. On Using Music in Acting "In the film, Morvern soundtracks her life through her headphones that rarely seem to leave her head. Morton followed suit and utilised music to get into character. "An actor called Hans Matheson (a former boyfriend) who was also a musician, taught me to use music years ago," explains the actress, who took to listening to music on headphones constantly on set. "He would always listen to music for his characters obsessively, so I thought I'd try it, and it elevated every emotion for me. So this was good because I got to do it for real on the set."From an article about Samantha Morton and the film "Morvern Callar' in Filmlink Magazine, Australia, September 2003
