Happy Days Child Care
Family Home Daycare
A place where children Learn and SHINE!

Policy Handbook

My goal is to provide a clean, safe and comfortable environment where children
can play and learn with guidance.  We will be integrating curriculum, arts and
crafts with a variety of skill development activities during our days, but my first
priority for the children will be to HAVE FUN!

The following is a list of rules and guidelines governing our daycare contract
agreement.  Please read this handbook thoroughly, as it covers very important
policies and procedures that pertain to the care of your child.  If you need
clarification on any of the policies in this handbook, please let me know.

ENROLLMENT POLICY:

All necessary forms MUST be completed and returned to me before I will assume
the responsibility of caring for your child.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  For me to care for
you children without these papers would be considered a violation of state law.
All forms must be updated according to need.

TRIAL PERIOD:

your child’s adjustment is important to all of us.  It is, therefore, agreed that a two
week trial period will exist before arrangements for continued care become final.
At the end of this period, the parents and provider will discuss how the child has
adjusted to the new setting, realizing that this varies from child to child.  At this
time either party may terminate care.

After this trial period, a minimum of two weeks notice must be given by the
parents.  The provider reserves the right to remove a child from the program upon
giving a two week notice to the parents if the provider believes that to continue
care might be detrimental to the child or the program.

PAYMENT PROCEDURES:

Payment is due Monday morning.  If Monday is a holiday, then payment is due
on Friday prior to the holiday.  Payments can be made in the form of cash, check
or money order payable to xxxxxxxxxxxxx.  A $20 charge will be assessed for a
returned check.  Parent also agrees to pay any additional charges incurred by the
provider as a result of their check being returned.  If your check is returned for
any reason, future payments may be required in cash.

LATE FEES:

If you pick up your child after contracted time for any reason there will be a late
fee of $4.00 per hour.  If you have not called or arrived to pick up your child with
in 30 minutes after contracted time, I will begin calling the emergency contacts
listed on you enrollment form.

A late fee of $1.00 per day will be charged for payments not made by close of
business on Monday.  If payment is not received by the start of Tuesday, the
child will NOT be accepted into care until payment and late fees have been made.
Again if Monday is a holiday, then payment is due on Friday prior to the
holiday.  Please keep in mind that prompt payment is required as this is part of
our family income and Family Child Care has many expenses.

EXTENDED LEAVE:

Payment of 50% of the weekly rate will be charged for any extended leave due
to vacation or maternity leave etc.

ABSENCES / LATE:

Child’s absence:  Please call me by 9:00 a.m. if you child will be late or not
attending that day.  If no notice has been given, I will assume the child is out and
continue with any planned or unplanned outings.  By doing so, will assure you
that we will be here when you arrive late.

Providers absence:  Although the provider will make every attempt to be
available each day, there may be an occasion when I am unable to provide
service.  In this event, care will be given by my mother xxxxxxxxxxxx  she is
very good with children and she is DES Certified.  However if xxxxx and I are
unavailable to provide care, it will be the parent’s responsibility to obtain
alternate care and to arrange payment to the substitute.  In this event that care
cannot be provided by Happy Days Child Care, you will be credited for that day
(weekly fee divided by days contracted per week).

At my Family Child Care you are paying for a specific slot not per day, the
operating expenses are the same whether you bring your child or not.  Therefore,
no deductions in the weekly fee will be made for sick days or days off.
