WHO'S YOUR DADDY THIRTEEN
JC worked on a song that he'd been having trouble with while trying to give Justin his time that he'd asked for. After nearly three hours and four trips to the bathroom he decided he was hungry. He was going to get something to eat and if he saw Justin somewhere along the way then Justin would just have to deal with it because damnit he was hungry.
JC tiptoed down the stairs hoping that he wouldn't disturb Justin wherever he was. He stopped in the doorway to the kitchen when he saw Justin sitting at the table doodling on the back of an empty captain crunch box.
Justin felt like he was being watched and turned to find JC standing in the doorway. He smiled faintly and turned back to his cereal box.
"I'm sorry if I'm bothering you. I was hungry. I'll just get something and then leave you alone." JC said meekly and moved quietly toward the refrigerator.
"You want me to get something for you? I can make you something or call for something, whatever you want." Justin offered, rising from the table.
JC smiled over his shoulder at Justin. "I don't really know what I want. I'm just hungry and hoping if I look around something will pop out at me. Thanks for offering though."
Justin moved up behind JC and laid both hands on his stomach spreading his fingers out. He leaned forward and kissed the back of JC's neck lightly. JC leaned back into Justin's arms and the doorbell rang. Both men groaned as Justin pulled away and moved to leave the room and answer the door.
JC closed the refrigerator door and leaned back against it smiling goofily and thinking that maybe it wasn't an entirely bad thing that Justin heard what he said to his mother.

Justin put on a halfhearted smile before opening the door.
"Hey what's up?" Justin asked, smiling as Chris and Lance walked in.
"We're going to get something to eat and then shopping. We thought we'd stop by and see if you and Jayce wanted to come along." Lance explained, grabbing Chris by the belt loop as he moved toward the alarm system keypad on the wall beside the door.
"Chris, back off. Remember what happened the last time that you tried to change the password? We don't need the Security Company and the police here again. They thought you'd kidnapped JC and I when you answered the phone and told them that we were tied up and it would cost them if they ever wanted to see us alive again. You almost got yourself shot when you hollered out the door that you'd never surrender. Oh and then when they asked you to let your hostages' go you yell out you'll never take me alive. You're an idiot. Do you know how much Jive had to pay to keep that quiet?" Justin asked, suppressing a grin when Lance frowned at the memory and Chris laughed.
Lance smacked the back of Chris' head. "Hey it's not my fault that they have no sense of humor." Chris pouted.
"No sense of humor? You idiot, they're just doing their job. They don't expect to call a house where an alarm went off and ask if everything's ok and then have someone say what you did. You don't joke about shit like that." Lance reprimanded, smacking his laughing boyfriend once again.
"What's the matter, Justin?" Lance asked, noticing that Justin wasn't laughing and joking with Chris like usual.
Justin shrugged and looked at the floor. "JC's mom called. She really hates me and then JC went and made it worse by telling her that the baby is mine and that he loves me." He said, still looking at the floor and pouting slightly.
"Whoa, JC told his mom that he loves you?" Lance asked, surprised because he hadn't heard JC say that and usually JC tells the rest of them things before he tells his family.
Justin picked at the dead skin around his thumbnail. "Yeah he told her that. Lance he never even told me that. I mean that's something big. It's like... I don't know it's just something that we should've dealt with first." He said, wincing when he pulled a little too hard on the skin and made his thumb bleed.
"So are you upset because he told her or because he loves you?" Lance queried, watching Justin intently.
Justin looked toward the kitchen door when he heard the phone ring. He assumed that JC answered it when the ringing stopped. "Both I guess." He shrugged again and then stuck his bleeding thumb in his mouth.
"Why does it upset you so much? Does it scare you that JC is in love with you?" Lance was nothing if not persistent when it came to getting answers out of his friends.
"Jesus Lance, what is this fucking twenty questions? It just bothers me ok." Justin growled, glaring at Lance as if daring him to ask something else.
Chris clamped a hand onto Justin's shoulder and squeezed it. "Hakuna matata my friend, hakuna matata." He said, nodding sagely.
"Excuse me?" Justin asked, half-afraid of what Chris would say next.
"Hakuna matata." Chris repeated, rolling his yes in exasperation.
JC laughed when he walked out of the kitchen and heard Chris quoting from the lion king movie.
"What the hell does that mean?" Justin asked, annoyance becoming evident in his posture.
"It means that Chris has been watching the lion king again. I thought I had that thing hidden good enough this time." Lance said, frowning when Chris chuckled wickedly.
"So what does it mean?" Justin asked, his tone softening toward the end of the question when JC jumped apparently startled by the yelling.
Lance looked horrified, while JC and Justin looked on bemused as Chris broke into song. "Hakuna Matata! What a wonderful phrase hakuna Matata! Ain't no passing craze. It means no worries for the rest of your days. It's our problem-free philosophy hakuna Matata!" He ended by jumping into the air and landing with his knees bent and his arms spread out and smiling triumphantly.
"Oh Jesus!" Justin gasped, grabbing his stomach before bending over in uncontrollable laughter.
Lance hid his face in his hands. "I can't believe he just did that." He moaned.
"Lance, was Chris home alone with the mountain dew and the Disney movies again?" JC asked, laughing as Chris continued to quote from the movie.
Lance groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose between his index finger and thumb. "I seriously need to get him a babysitter when I've got Freelance stuff to do."
"Hey I don't need a babysitter, yo!" Chris said, heading in the direction of the security alarm keypad again.
"Chris, stop." Justin said, jumping in front of his friend.
"You people are no fun. You used to be my best friend Justin. You go and knock up a hot brunette and suddenly turn into a prude. We never have any fun anymore. You need to dump the little mother over there and stick with Barbie. I want my friend back." Chris sulked, leaning back against the wall and crossing his arms.
Justin stepped forward and curled his hand into the collar of Chris' shirt pulling it tight around his neck. "First of all, JC is not just some hot brunette and I don't want to hear you talking like that about him again. Second, if I'm no fun anymore then it's all me and has nothing to do with JC. He'd never try to keep me from doing something with you if I wanted to. Third if you like Barbie so much you go date her because I just broke up with her." He growled, giving Chris a light push as he released his shirt.
"You broke up with her?" JC rasped, surprised enough that he wasn't quite able to find his voice.
"Yeah, I just got off the phone with her before you came down to get something to eat." Justin affirmed, watching JC for some sign of his approval or disapproval.
"Why?" JC whispered, his eyes shining bright with hope and stepping a little bit closer to Justin.
Justin shrugged. "Because I love you. Are we going to eat?" He turned to look at Lance questioningly while JC's smile was bright enough to light the room.
