~Remember, you are a grown woman now, you don't have to be nervous.~ Jessica Mitchell thought to herself while driving to her new job. She's finally doing what she's always wanted to do, play keyboard in a band. But this band isn't a normal band; she's in the band for the Backstreet Boys. She pulled into the parking lot, and walked to the building. The other band members were there, and all of them went to go have their first run through with the guys.
"So Dennis, who's the newest addition to our musical family?" Kevin asked looking at Jessica.
"This is Jessica Mitchell, our new keyboardest." Dennis answered. Jessica and Kevin shook hands. She met the rest of the guys, and after practice she went with them to get coffee.
"I don't get it, you came with us to get coffee, but you got a fruit smoothie." Nick said when they sat down.
"I only got a smoothie because I wasn't in the mood for hot chocolate." She said. "Plus, I hate coffee, I just came to talk to you guys."
*1 Month Later*
"So, do you think you can handle all of us for 3 months straight?" Brian asked Jessica one day before the Millennium Tour started.
"Oh yeah, it can't be that bad as you say it is. You guys are great. Plus, I've lived 5 days with 6 girls in a cabin. Now that was rough." She answered.
"Sounds bad. But you just see how great we are after weeks of being with each other."
"Oh well, I'll see you tomorrow. I still have to pack."
"Ok, bye." Jessica hung up the phone with a smile on her face. She was falling bad for Brian. Over the last month, the two of them have gotten really close. And now, she has to spend 3 months with the guy, what's the poor girl going to do.
*5 weeks later*
The tour has been going well, and Jessica was loving it. She and Mindi and the dancers have grown close, mostly because they were the only women on the tour. If there was any free time at the hotels, all of them were usually in the same room talking. As for Jessica and Brian, they were growing closer everyday.
"What are you up to?" Brian said frightening Jessica.
"Just writing." She replied as she moved over so he could sit next to her on her bunk.
"Writing what?"
"A song, I finally got out of my writers block."
"I can I see?"
"I guess, promise not to laugh."
"I promise." He read what she had and said, "Jess, that's awesome. Do you have a melody?"
"Yeah, it goes something like this." She sang the first few lines.
"You have a beautiful voice, it goes with you're beautiful face."
"Thanks." She said while thinking to herself, ~That was a pathetic excuse for a line.~ Then Brian accidentally brushed his hand against her foot, and she flinched.
"What?" He asked.
"That tickled." Jessica said.
"Oh, you're ticklish." Brian said with a grin.
"No, no I'm not. No!" Brian started to tickle her. After a while she fell off the bunk, but she had the lower one so it was ok. She then took off for the back of the bus, Brian followed close behind. They continued the 'war' for awhile until Jessica had Brian pinned against the wall.
"The tables have turned Mr. Littrell." She said.
"So they have." He replied. They just stood there for staring into each other's eyes. ~Since he's obviously not picking up my hints, I have to make the first move.~ Jessica thought to herself. At the same time Brian was thinking, ~She's so beautiful, when should I make my move?~ Jessica took the matters into her hands and pulled her face closer to Brian’s', until they finally kissed. Now this wasn't a short peck, this was a full-fledged kiss. Brian wrapped his arms around her waist, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. They stayed like that for awhile, coming up for air a few times.
"Hey guys,” Kevin said interrupting them, "sorry if this is a bad time, but we're fueling up. So we can get off."
"Ok, we're coming." Jessica said like nothing happened.
~*~ Chapter 2 ~*~
"So Jess, Kev tells me that he caught you and Brian making-out in the back of the bus. What's this about?" Mindi asked when they were in the gas station.
"I'll tell you later." Jessica said. "Ok, if I buy a box of Popsicle’s, will you guys eat some?"
"You're buying right?" Amy asked.
"Yeah."
"Then I'm in."
"Me too." Teresa said.
"Jess, you're avoiding the subject." Mindi said.
"No, I told you I'll tell you later." Jessica answered.
"Mindi, she'll tell us later. Cuz then she can get into details." Kristin said.
"Exactly." They all bought what they needed, and Jessica found her salt-and-vinegar chips she loves so much.
"Jess where'd you find those?" Howie asked while on the bus.
"In the gas station. Why do you want some?" She said.
"If I could."
"Later, have a Popsicle though." He left with his Popsicle.
"All right, spill it girl." Nicole said.
"This is pathetic, the most exciting event in the last five weeks is me kissing Brian." Jessica said, and then explained everything.
"That's so cute. So are the two of you an item now?" Mindi asked.
"I think so, but since I haven't talked to him yet I don't know." She answered.
"Hey, can we talk?" Jessica said when Brian opened the door to his hotel room.
"Yeah come in." He said.
"About yesterday, did that mean anything to you?"
"Yeah, you don't know how long I've waited to do that."
"So does it mean what I think it does?"
"Well, if it means that we should try again, yes." He moved closer to Jessica and kissed her again. "It's even better the second time around." Jessica spent the rest of the night in Brian's room.
Chapter 3~
*November 8, Michigan*
"Ah, Michigan, I'm home again." Jessica said walking into the arena.
"Who want's to go check this place out?" Nicole asked.
"Me." Everyone answered, so they were off. Kristin ran ahead of them and did a backflip.
"I still go it." She said. They all started to do random tricks, when two event security guards walked past.
"Hi." Jessica said while sitting on the floor.
"Hi." The guards answered. Jessica stared at one of the guards for a while and said, "Did you know that the Almo has a basement?" One of the guards turned around and looked at Jessica. She just smiled.
"Jessie?" He asked.
"Hi Matt." She ran up to him and gave him a hug. "How have you been?"
"Great, what brings you here?"
"I'm with the band. I play the keyboards. You work here now?"
"Yeah, it's a part-time deal while I go though school. Plus I get to go to concerts for free."
"Jess, you going to let us meet this handsome stranger?" Teresa asked.
"Oh yeah, girls this is my old neighbor, Matt. Matt this is Teresa, Kristin, Amy, Nicole, Nefertiti, the dancers, and Mindi, the sax player." They all talked for a while.
"So do you want to meet the guys?" Jessica asked.
"Sure." Matt answered. They walked around till they found the guys.
"Hey baby." Brian said giving Jessica a kiss.
"Hey, guys I want you to meet Matt. Matt this is Kevin, AJ, Nick, Howie, and this is Brian my boy toy." All of them talked for an hour until they had to practice.
"If you're ever in Florida, give me a call, ok?" Jessica said giving Matt a hug.
"I will I promise." He said and walked away.
"Jess, you might want to talk to your 'boy toy'." Mindi said as they walked towards the stage.
"What's the matter with him?" She asked.
"I don't think he understands the bond you and Matt have. He probably just thinks that you were flirting with him."
"Could be, I didn't exactly tell him about Matt ever. I'll see you in a sec." Jessica walked over to Brian.
"You ok?" She asked.
"Yeah, why?" Brian answered.
"Don't lie to me. I know something's wrong. If it's about Matt, let me explain. I grew up with him; he's like the brother I never had. I was just excited to see him; I haven't in 2 years. It's like you seeing Harold after 2 years that’s all. Do you believe me?"
"Of course."
"Good, I have to go now. I love you." She gave him another kiss.
~Chapter 4~
*March 14, 2000, The Day before the Last Show*
"Ok, so I talked to the technicians, and they said we could go up tomorrow." Mindi said.
"Who's going up?" Nefertiti asked.
"I can go on the ground." Jessica said.
"So can I." Teresa said.
"All right, the five of us will get to the stadium a little earlier than everyone so Pat and Ed can hook us up." Mindi said, "Then Teresa and Jess will come with the rest of the guys, and we'll surprise them."
"Sounds good, then we should meet around 9 then?" Amy said.
"Yeah, see you guys tomorrow." Mindi said. Since it was the last show of the whole tour, the girls decided to have a little fun with the guys with the help of the flying equipment. All of the guys and the girls have had this on going water fight thought out the whole tour. Now since it was the end, the girls wanted to proclaim themselves the winners.
*The Next Day*
"Ready to kick some butt?" Amy asked.
"Of you know it." Mindi said as Pat strapped her into her harness.
"Ok, we'll lift you all once Nicole is strapped in, then lower you once Jessica gives us the signal." Ed said.
"Ok, I want to get a picture of all of you together." Jessica said leading the guys to the stage after everyone was risen up.
"Are you obsessed with pictures or something?" Nick asked.
"In a way, yes. I want to capture all the memories I can, so I'll always have things to remember them by. Now smile." She took the picture, and Ed started to lower the girls who have been hanging for fifteen minutes now. Teresa and some of the female crewmembers came in with their Super Soakers.
"What are you doing?" AJ asked.
"Letting you know whose boss around here!" Mindi yelled. The guys looked up, and decided to try and take as many of the girls as possible. However, Nick snuck away under the stage, unknowing to the girls.
"Kev, catch." He said when he returned with a couple Super Soakers of his own. "I figured that you would pull something, I prepared for war." The water war lasted for a good 30 minutes. By the end, everyone was soaked.
*Back In Florida*
Jessica just walked into her apartment when the phone rang.
"Hello?" She said.
"I kept my promise." Was all the voice said.
"Hey Matt, where are you?"
"I'm in Orlando right now. We're heading to the Keys in a few days, so I gave you a call."
"That's great, when did you get in? And who is we?"
"We got in yesterday, and it's me, Brian, Jimmy, and Josh."
"You're still in touch with them?"
"Yeah, and we wanted to know if you would like to show us around for a while."
"That would be great, I'll meet you at your hotel in a half hour."
"Great, we'll see you then."
"Oh, can I bring Brian with?"
"Yeah, that would be fine. I'll see you then, bye."
"Bye." Jessica hung up the phone, and tried to call Brian.
~Why isn't he home?~ Jessica thought to herself, ~He's not leaving till tomorrow.~ So, she left a message saying where she was and where to meet them if he had a chance.
