So what if it has been two months since my last journal entry? :-) Gee, so much has happened that I don't even know where to begin. Well, I guess the big excitement of the last two months was my trip to New York, but you can read about that elsewhere on this page, so I won't get into it here (which will be a great relief to my friends, who are, I'm very sure, *very* tired of hearing about it! :-). Also big excitement for Stacy, who will be interning with the PR department of Livent (if they don't go under this summer! :-p) in NYC. No, I'm not jealous! Not at all. Just because my face is turning green, that doesn't mean anything! It just means I'll be planning another trip down there a bit sooner than I expected! Probably around the time of the Tonys, right Stacy? :-)

I made a road trip to Ottawa the other weekend to see Carleton's production of Little Shop of Horrors. It was my intention to post a full review, but I seem to have misplaced my program so I can mention any names, and I really should be writing an essay, so this has to be a shorter-than-it-should-be journal entry. Isn't procrastination grand? :-) Let's just say that Carleton's production was *fantastic* - I saw it twice and enjoyed every second each time. I did have to laugh at Stacy doing her Les Mis impression, but I was probably the only one who caught it. :-) And it was worth the trip to Ottawa to hear the lovely actress playing Audrey (and I wish I could remember her name!) sing "Somewhere That's Green". Gorgeous.

My biggest excitement this week (other than downloading less-than-legal recordings of Parade from various sites around the internet - a good time was had by all in my house when I discovered these, let me tell you! Well, at least, I had a good time - I'm not so convinced about my parents! :-) was the discovery that there will be a third installment in the Anne of Green Gables movies that CBC did about twelve years ago. I am a *huge* Anne freak, and Jonathan Crombie's Gilbert was one of my first obsessions. In fact, Gilbert, period, was one of my first obsessions. And still is. And the Anne movies remain one of my favourite videotapes to curl up with on a rainy Saturday afternoon. I was so excited when I found the webpage about the upcoming movie (Anne of Green Gables, the Continuing Story) that I had to get up and do a little dance. Now I just have to wait patiently (or not!) for the movie to actually be broadcast. It looks like it's a totally new story, not based on one of the books at all, which I *think* is ok with me, as long as they stay true to the spirit of the books and the characters. But the other movies were, and it's the same cast, so I can only assume they will. The synopsis says that Gilbert goes to fight in WWI, and is listed missing in action, so Anne goes to France to find him. Not *exactly* how the book goes, but I can work with it. :-)

I also "borrowed" some pictures of the new movie from the website. It looks great. I feel my Jonathan Crombie obsession rearing its ugly head once again! :-) But you know what they say about old obsessions .... what's that? You don't? I thought everyone knew they never die, they just lie dormant until something happens to revive them. :-) Anyway, for now I'd better get back to working on my essay (anyone want to write an essay on Plato and Aristotle's theories of representations in literature for me? :-). I'm sure I had some very important, mind-boggling, earthshattering things to say (like something profound about Kosovo), but they're all gone. That's what happens when you study too hard. Studying is bad. Exams should be outlawed. Yeah, that's it. And I bet I could find a few people around this time of year who would agree with me! :-) Anyway, that's it for me for tonight. Have a good week, everyone. Hopefully more updates will be coming soon (like an Anne of Green Gables tribute - why do I feel one of those coming on? :-). Goodnight!
