A Year to Remember!

From July 1994 to August 1995, I lived in Sonderborg, Denmark, as a Rotary International Exchange Student (or udvekslingstudent, in Danish). It was the most amazing year of my life. Denmark is a beautiful country, and the people were so welcoming and friendly. I met all kinds of wonderful people, learned to speak Danish, and came home with a great appreciation for the world outside my doorstep.

I attended Amtsgymnasiet i Sonderborg, where I was placed in 3rd year, which is the senior year of the equivalent of high school in Denmark. My class, 3B, was so wonderful to me, and I will never forget them. Malene, Trine, Eva, Kari, Randi, Tina, Gunhild, Tanja, Rikke, Julia, Susanna, Mie, Anette, Naja, Pia, Dan, Jesper, Jacob and Rolf ... you guys are the best.

I also met many other exchange students while I was there. It's really important to have other exchange students to talk to during an experience like this -- they always know exactly how you feel and provide comfort and laughter and love. Amy, Darren, Jaime, Louyse, and the rest of the clique, Abby, Heather, Sarah, Jeff and the rest of the Canuck contingent, Kaja, Adam, Becky, Meaghan and everyone else in Sonderborg ... I'll never forget any of you. Thanks for the memories.
