“Anne of Green Gables” is Don Harron’s musical adaptation of the classic novel by L.M. Montgomery. Remaining incredibly faithful to the story and the spirit of the novel, the musical tells the story of the red-headed, imaginative orphan who brings laughter and love to an elderly brother and sister and, eventually, to a whole town.

G.S.S.’s production of “Anne” was the directors’ first attempt at a large-scale musical, and it was a success, the familiar story making it a hit with audiences. Unfortunately, a job action by teachers meant that the directors were not able to attend any performances after opening night - the first and only time the directors were not at every performance. However, the cast and community pulled together and in the great show biz tradition the show went on.
