Greece - Corfu

Not really a whole lot to say about Corfu. I'd been here before and didn't really have much interest in coming back - I was really just using Corfu as a staging post to get to Albania. You can read elsewhere about my arduous journey to get from Budapest to Corfu, via Croatia and Italy!!!

Just one thing about Corfu... when you've been on the road for a while, and you get the opportunity to actually relax for the day. you certainly don't pass it up. So it was that I spent Monday 2nd September 1996 doing absolutely bugger all. The only thing of interest is my quest to find a newspaper with some football results. I spend most of the afternoon translating the World Cup scores from Greek into English, and eventually stumble across the result I was really looking for, namely:

I think that goes down as an "away win". Play up Pompey!
